NASS Participates in “Brain Mapping Day at the California State Assembly” on August 7, 2018

The North American Spine Society’s (NASS) First Vice President, Jeffrey C. Wang, MD, will participate in a panel discussion at “Brain Mapping Day at the California State Assembly” on August 7, 2018 in Sacramento, which is organized by the State Assembly, Brain Mapping Foundation and the Society for Brain Mapping and Therapeutics (SBMT). He will join NASS’ Director of Government Relations, Jordan Abushawish, MPP, who will discuss public policy hurdles to spine research and innovation.

NASS Launches Spine Registry

U.S. spine care providers have a brand new tool to measure and improve patient care: a diagnosis-based clinical data registry that tracks patient care and outcomes.  Launched by the North American Spine Society (NASS), this web-based platform will allow health care providers to collect and analyze their spine care data and compare it to the de-identified data in the entire registry. Because it is diagnosis-specific, not procedure-specific, the NASS Spine Registry will enhance understanding of spine care treatments, their outcomes, and examine the natural history of spine disorders.

Great Expectations Vs Greater Expectations

Eighty-six percent of lumbar spine surgery patients had greater expectations for their own improvement after lumbar surgery than their surgeons had, according to new research reported at the 32nd Annual Meeting of the North American Spine Society (NASS).
